How to join the VPN self-service access group?

Overview

For security, University of Idaho accounts are not automatically granted access to use the VPN service. A self-service group has been created to allow access and you must join the group prior to installing and using the Cisco Secure Client to connect to the VPN.

Please Note: After joining the self-service group, it will take 30 minutes to provision your access to the VPN.

Joining the Self-Service Staff Group

Go to the following link: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/groups/4bcc0c8b-2f37-4fb9-b6f5-84bb88cbaf21

Click on the button to "Join group".  If you do not see a "Join group" button but instead see a "Leave" button, you are already enrolled in the group and can start using the Cisco Secure Client VPN Service.

You will be asked to provide a business justification and select the "Join" button again to join the group.

Click on Done when the group join is approved.

Once you are a member, the button at the top will change to show "Leave". Only click "Leave" to be removed from the group if you no longer need access to the Cisco Secure Client VPN service.

Activation Email

Within the hour you will also receive an email notice about joining the VPN-Vandal-Request group.

Installing Cisco Secure Client

Once you have been added to the group, and waited for the 30 minute provisioning delay, you will be able to install and use the Cisco Secure Client VPN application following these instructions
