Step 8

Once the printer is set up, send a test print to it. The queue will appear in the dock. Click resume and enter credentials in the form:

  • AD\jvandal or AD\vand1234
  • Your password

When the printer is added to your local computer, print a test page to make sure the printer was installed correctly. You can add multiple printers in a similar fashion.

Authentication

When logging in, use your UI account with 'ad\' added to your username. For example, the username 'jvandal' would become: 'ad\jvandal'

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to print after changing your password, open the Windows Credential Manager and review any password profiles which include "uidaho" in the name or description, particularly "sts.uidaho.edu" or "print.uidaho.edu".  If the date that the password was set is too old, or if you show the password and see that it is incorrect, then use the "Edit" option to update the password for these profiles.

Warning: Leaving an old password in these profiles can cause your account password to lock out temporarily, preventing access to university computers and web services.
