Wireless Networks
The Wireless LAN (WiFi) service provides network access to technology resources used at the University of Idaho as well as the Internet, and Internet2 (I2). The wireless service is based on Wifi 5 and Wifi 6.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to use eduroam or AirVandalGold. Visitors from other universities and research organization are invited to use eduroam. Other visitors are welcome to use AirVandalGuest.. There are no usage, access or maintenance fees for the Wifi service and it is available to students, faculty, staff, departments, retirees, parents, prospective students, visitors, contractors, alumni, affiliates and vendors.
Wired Network
Some services at the U of I are only available through a wired network connection on our campuses. In order to obtain wired Internet access on your desktop or laptop machine, your computer will need to be registered with MAC address and corresponding wallplate ID, or where on the wall the Ethernet cable is plugged in.
If you need a port turned on in your building, please provide the wall plate numbers, and if you need a special network associated with it so we can quickly assist you.
