Eligibility/Prerequisites
Staff and faculty with staff/faculty emails can request this service. Purchase requests through student emails will be asked to resubmit using a staff account.
To request software, you will need an index, fund code, and your unit’s fiscal contact’s email address.
The email or device name in which the software license will be associated.
Completely new software that has not previously been approved for purchase at the University of Idaho may be required to go through the IDEA process before it can be purchased.
Charges/Cost
Index(es) and fund code(s) are required to complete purchase, but this is only to cover the purchase cost of the requested software, at exactly the price of the outside vendor.
There is no surcharge or extra cost levied by OIT Procurement for this service.

- OIT has select Microsoft products that we carry in stock for quicker delivery time.
- Software that is being purchased for the first time will have to go through a Vendor Security Assessment performed by the OIT Security team. IDEA requests are performed by the OIT Governance Committee.
- For software that has an annual renewal, you will be notified by OIT Procurement for confirmation of renewal before your index will be charged.
