Departing Student Guide

Overview

Your University student account and access any university services will expire shortly after you have graduated. To continue receiving e-mail sent to your student account, follow the list below to make sure you are prepared.

  1. Back up your OneDrive Documents
  2. Save Important Documents
  3. Remove Microsoft Office
  4. Connect to AirVandalGuest
  5. Setup an @alumni.uidaho.edu Account

Back up your OneDrive Documents

Your OneDrive documents will need to be backed up to a USB, cloud storage or external drive prior to the migration of your account from @vandals to @alumni. If you migrate your account, and do not back up your OneDrive documents, they will be deleted during the transition

Save Important Documents

Print off any important documents you may need, as your print quota is non-refundable. Graduates will no longer have access to MyUI. We suggest making hard copies of any information you may need, like unofficial transcripts.

You can also save these files by "printing" them to PDF format.

Remove Microsoft Office

We recommend you uninstall Microsoft Office and install an alternate program, or purchase your own license for Microsoft Office, as your license will expire upon graduation. Other applications you may need to uninstall include Cisco AnyConnect. If you have questions about what alternative antivirus programs are available, please contact the Student Technology Center.

Connect to AirVandalGuest

While on campus in the future, you may connect to the wireless network AirVandalGuest. You will want to "Forget" the AirVandalGold, AirVandalHome and eduroam networks as you will no longer be able to connect after graduation.
