Overview:
This article provides steps for connecting to AirVandalGold or AirVandalHome WiFi networks on campus from the following operating systems. The process and settings are the same for both networks.

For further assistance connecting to WiFi, please contact the STC or your regional TSP, or submit a ticket.
Step 1:
Click the Wireless Icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen to see the local wireless networks.
Click the Wireless Icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
Step 2:
Connect to the AirVandalGold wireless network.
Click "Connect."
Step 3:
You will be prompted to renter in your NetID username and password and you will be connected to AirVandalGold.
Enter your credentials.

Step 1:
Click on the AirPort icon in the top right-hand side of the screen and click on the AirVandalGold network.
Click on the AirVandalGold network.
Step 2:
You will be prompted to enter your University email address and password. Enter these now and you will be connected to AirVandalGold.
Your machine will be registered automatically. You will be prompted to accept a security certificate. Accept it and enter your computer’s log on password when prompted to add the certificate to your system.
You are now connected to AirVandalGold and will have full access to the internet.
Enter your credentials, (username and password.)

Step 1:
Open the settings page by swiping down from the top of your device and tapping the gear icon.
Step 2:
Locate and open the Wifi networks settings
Select AirVandalGold or AirVandalHome
Step 3:
Enter the following settings
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA Certificate (if prompted): Depending on the version of Android that your phone uses, there are two options for this setting. Most commonly, it should be set to "Do Not Validate", however, if you are unable to connect, you should change this to "Use System Certificates".
Domain: uidaho.edu
Identity: Your NetID (ex. vand1234
Anonymous Identity: Leave blank
Password: Your Password
Finally, press connect and you should have access to the network.

Step 1:
On your iOS device, navigate to and click on the Settings application.
On your iOS device, click on the Settings tab.
Step 2:
In the Settings menu, click Wi-Fi and then connect to AirVandalGold.
Connect to AirVandalGold.
Step 3:
You will be asked to enter your NetID username and password. Enter both and you will be automatically connected to AirVandalGold. Your device will be registered automatically.
Enter your NetID username and password.
Step 4:
You might be asked to accept a security certificate – this is normal. The University of Idaho uses a secure internet connection method which requires that you accept a global signed certificate.
Once you accept the certificate, it will be processed, and you will be connect to AirVandalGold giving you full access to the internet.
You will be connect to AirVandalGold and have full access to the internet.

Step 1:
Click on the WiFi button on the bottom right of the screen
Step 2:
Click on AirVandalGold or AirVandalHome
Step 3:
In the following prompt fill in these fields
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
Server CA certificate: Do Not Validate
Identity: Enter your University NetID
Password: Enter your University of Idaho password
Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank

Linux
Step 1:
Select the network icon in the top-right corner to view availble wireless networks. Then, select the network you want to use
Step 2:
You will be asked to authenticate to the network. Make sure your window matches the following settings:
- Wi-Fi security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Leave the Anonymous identity field empty
- For CA certificate, use the Root-USERTrust.crt certificate file (Found Here)
- PEAP version: Automatic
- Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Username: your NetID
- Password: your password
Once you have configured the settings and entered your credentials, click Connect.
Step 3:
If all the settings are correct, after 5-10 seconds you will be successfully connected. You will now see a notifcation:
