Zoom iPad/iPhone Volume Issues

Issue Overview
Users may encounter difficulties in completely muting or controlling the volume of the Zoom client on their iPads or iPhones. This article provides two effective workarounds to address this issue.

Workaround 1: Using an External Speaker

  • Connect to an External Speaker: Connect the iPad/iPhone to an external audio device, such as headphones or a Bluetooth speaker.
  • Control Volume via the Speaker: Use the volume controls on the external speaker to adjust the audio level. This method allows you to manage the volume independently of the iPad/iPhone's settings.

Workaround 2: Disconnecting Audio in Zoom:

  • Disconnect Audio: In a Zoom meeting, tap the "More" button (usually represented by three dots) at the bottom of the screen. iPhone users will need to scroll to the right end to locate the "More" button. Tap on "Disconnect Audio" from the options provided. This action will mute both the microphone and speaker, silencing the audio from the meeting.
  • Reconnect Audio: To restore audio, tap the "Join Audio" option and select your preferred audio connection method (e.g., Wi-Fi).
