Overview
This article covers how to install Sophos antivirus for Linux.
Important! Sophos is only licensed for university owned machines. Do not install Sophos Antivirus on a personal device.
Process
Step 1
You will need make and gcc installed on the system to successfully install Sophos. Install make and gcc using your package manager if not already installed.
Step 2
Contact your TSP or Local Support team and request the Sophos installer script. Once shared, download to the Linux computer.
Step 3
Open a terminal and run the downloaded installer script as root.

Step 4
The installation progress begins and may take some time to complete. Once completed, you should receive a message stating Sophos installed successfully.
