Create and Manage Breakout Rooms

Overview:

This guide will teach how to create breakout rooms to Zoom meetings and how to manage them during a meeting.

Pre-assigning Breakout Rooms

Step 1:

When creating a meeting, one can pre-assign breakout rooms to be ready to be used during a Zoom Meeting.

Step 2:

WIth the options revealed, check the box in Breakout Rooms Pre-assign. Afterwards you can "Create Rooms" or "Import from CSV.""

Step 3:

When Create Rooms is selected a pop-up to create the rooms is shown. Plus the plus sign to create a room. To assign a participant, enter their email and press the enter key. Click "Save" when done. The Breakout Rooms will be available for use in the meeting.

Managing Breakout Rooms during a meeting

Step 1:

When it is time for the meeting to button into breakout rooms, the host or co-host can press the More button on the bottom toolbar to click the breakout rooms session.

Step 2: 

From here you will see the different rooms and who is assigned to it. Click “Open All Rooms” will automatically put people into their assigned room and begin the breakout rooms.

Step 3: 

If someone is unassigned or needs to be moved, Hover over their name for the “Move to” button and move to desired room or to put them back in the main session.
