Why am I being prompted to sign in so frequently?

Overview

The user sign-in frequency setting within Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On (SSO) has been set to have a 30 day limit as a default across all applications. This means devices that are logged into applications through Azure will be logged out after 30 days and will require you to sign back into the service.

Note: In most cases, the 30 day user sign-in frequency requires providing your password or other authentication method.

Stricter Sign-In Frequency and Exceptions

Some applications may have a shorter session limits resulting more frequent sign-ins for those specific applications, such as applications with high risk data. This is set as to comply with University standards regarding session management (More information).  If an application requires a longer session limit, please submit a Policy Exception request.
