How do I connect to the printer using Windows?
Step 1:
Select the window icon to open the start menu, then select Settings.
Go to Start, then Settings.
Step 2:
From the Settings menu, select Devices.
Select "Devices."
Step 3:
From the Devices panel, under the Printers & scanners tab, select Add a printer or scanner.
Select Printers & Scanners, then "Add a printer or scanner."
Step 4:
The computer will search for a printer. If yours appears, select it. If not, select "The printer that I want isn't listed."

Step 5:
Once you have selected "The printer that I want isn't listed," check "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname" and click next.
Check "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname."
Step 6:
Select "Autodetect" for device type. Next, type the Hostname for one of the printers:
- Black HP Printer: "its-vc-m425dn.printer.uidaho.edu"
- White Printer: "targhee.printer.uidaho.edu"

Finally, make sure to check the "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use" option and press Next. The printer should now be added!
How do I connect to the printer using MacOS?
Step 1:
Click on the Apple icon to open the Apple menu and then click System Preferences.
Go to System Preferences.
Step 2:
Choose Printers & Scanners icon from the menu.
Choose the Printers & Scanners icon.
Step 3:
Select the add button (+) in the lower left of the window to add a new network printer.
Step 4:
Choose the IP option at the top of the Add window.
Customize the toolbar.
Step 5:
In the Address field type in one of the following hostnames:
- Black HP Printer: "its-vc-m425dn.printer.uidaho.edu"
- White Printer: "targhee.printer.uidaho.edu"
You may need to select IPP from the protocol list. Please wait for the Operating System to find the driver before hitting the "Add" button.
Step 6:
It will then ask you if this is a duplex printing unit, which enables double sided printing. Make sure this option is checked, then press OK.
Check the box next to duplex unit.
Step 7:
The printer will now appear in your devices list and available for printing when turned on.
How do I scan to USB?
Step 1:
Plug in your USB drive to the printer of the front side of the device. It will be in the bottom left, under the HP logo.
Step 2:
Place your document into the scanning bay, located on top of the device.
Step 3:
Select "Scan" from the main menu of the printer.
Step 4:
Select "Scan to USB". The scan should take only a few seconds to complete!
