For instructions on how to use this Technology Transfer ticketing system,
please review the "Quick Guide" under the heading "Attachments".
A. Request for Advising:
The processes required for developing, protecting, and leveraging intellectual property are complex and take a good deal of time - the Office of Technology Transfer is here to guide you so that you can help commercialize your inventions and discoveries, and we work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the Office of General Counsel (OGC). Use the Request for Advising function of this site to get resources and assistance to help advance your research.
B. Invention Disclosure Form:
Researchers at the University of Idaho may find that they discover or produce technologies of commercial significance. UI has a process* for identifying and patenting inventions and discoveries, and your partner in this process is the Office of Technology Transfer (click here for more information - you can download a blank form on this page, under the heading "Attachments").
*The Invention Disclosure Form is the first necessary step in this process that should be completed prior to any planned public disclosure.
C. Non-Disclosure Agreement:
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), alternately called Confidentiality Agreements, may be required to discuss confidential information with a third party. The Office of Technology Transfer facilitates this process for faculty and staff, on behalf of the University of Idaho and our employees.
