FAQ
- Is PaperCut only available in the Student Computer Labs?
- PaperCut is currency only available to use with Student Computing Lab printers. This includes all lab, kiosk, and printer stations managed for student printing listed here. PaperCut is not available at this time for departmental printing.
- How do I release print jobs to a specific printer?
- To release your print jobs you will need to go to one of the lab printers and key in your V# (Press 'Enter', then the 8 numeric digets of the V#, then press 'Enter' again). Alternatively you can scan the QR code on the printer with a mobile device and use the web interface to release the print job.
- What is my print quota?
- Students are credited with $12.50 worth of print quota at the beginning of each semester. Staff and Faculty do not receive print quota, unless they are also a student.
- How much does my quota get charged when I print?
Please Note: The charges only apply once a print job is printed. If you print to PaperCut but do not release the print job it is removed from the system after 8 hours and your quota does not get charged. You can also choose to delete a print job instead of releasing it after checking in at a printer and scanning the QR code. This is a great way to stretch your print quota through the semester.
- Color Printer Prints: $1/pg
- Black and White Printer Prints: $0.05/pg
- Charges depend on which printer you use, not necessarily what you are printing. All print jobs (including B/W jobs) that are sent to a color printer will be charged the color amount. All jobs sent to a B/W printer will be charged the B/W amount.
- Color printers in student labs have notices regarding the fee structure:
