How to resolve Duo "Network not allowed" block message?

Overview

During the Single Sign-On (SSO) process you may encounter this Duo MFA error message:

 Network not allowed
Your organization requires you to be on an authorized network to login.

 

Network Restriction

Duo MFA is configured to deny access for users who request access through proxies, Tor, or VPN.

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve this error:

  1. Where possible, disable any anonymous proxies, Tor or anonymizing VPN services when accessing University of Idaho resources.
  2. Enable and install the University of Idaho VPN
