Overview
This tutorial will guide you through mounting your on-premises Shared Space drives to a Windows computer.
Please Note: If you are not connect to AirVandalGold, AirVandalHome, or a wired network connection you must first
connect to the VPN before accessing shared spaces.

Step 1
Windows 10 - Open File Explorer and select This PC. Find and click the Computer tab, and select the Map Network Drive option.

Windows 11 - Open File Explorer from the taskbar or by pressing the Windows logo key + E. Right-click on This PC from the left pane and select Map network drive.

Step 2
For the Shared drive, select S: for drive and enter the folder; \\files.uidaho.edu\shared.
If you set these to reconnect at sign-in, note that it will only correctly reconnect if you already have the VPN running or are connected to a University of Idaho network.


Your drives should now appear under This PC in File Explorer.
