Overview
If you have a University managed machine the Cisco Secure Client (VPN) should already be available. If you do not have the Cisco Secure Client available you can download this by opening the Software Center and choose the Cisco Secure Client to install. If you already installed the VPN client, you can skip to the "Connecting to the VPN" section.

Download the VPN
Download the VPN from: https://downloads.uidaho.edu/vpn/any/Cisco-AnyConnect-Windows.exe
If it asks for your Credentials to download the file, enter them.
If you do not have access, either reach out to OIT using the OIT Tech Support Portal by navigating to oit.uidaho.edu, by calling (208) 885-4357 or email support@uidaho.edu.
Run the Cisco-AnyConnect-Windows.exe file.

Installation
Click "Install Selected"

Accept the EULA
Click Accept to Accept the EULA (End User License Agreement).

Open the Windows Menu
Type in Cisco Secure Client and select the App from the start menu.

Connect
Select “Connect”.

Authenticate

A browser window will open. Proceed to enter your NetID in the Username field.

Then put in your password in the Password field.

If prompted to approve Duo, approve using one of your created methods.

A browser window will then let you know that you have successfully authenticated.
Note: Starting the VPN before login is no longer a supported option.
