The AirVandal Device Access card helps students and employees register personal entertainment or smart devices (like consoles and streaming sticks) to the AirVandal Wi-Fi network.

  • Click “Register a Device” to open the AirVandal Setup portal: help.uidaho.edu
  • On the registration form, you’ll be asked to enter:
    • Username (your NetID)
    • Password
    • Device MAC address (unique code found in device settings)
    • Email (auto-filled with your U of I address)
    • Choose whether your device is:
      • Wireless (e.g., Smart TV, Apple TV, Fire Stick, Xbox, PS4)
      • Wired (for Ethernet-connected devices)
    • Optional checkbox for devices with NAT errors (mostly for advanced gaming setups)

What You’ll See After Clicking

  • A simple AirVandal Setup form appears with labeled fields to complete the registration.
  • After registering, your device will be allowed to connect to the AirVandal network.

Additional Information

  • This card is specifically for devices that don’t support web login, such as:
    • Smart TVs
    • Gaming consoles
    • Streaming devices (e.g., Roku, Fire Stick)
  • Laptops, phones, and tablets should use the regular AirVandalGold network and authenticate normally.
  • Be sure to enter the correct MAC address, or your device won’t connect.
  • The AirVandal network is separate from AirVandalGold and is designed for personal entertainment and media devices only.
