Fix Broken Links in CANVAS Course

Link Error Notifications

Instructors can automatically receive notifications of the location and content of a failed link that a student has interacted with.

1. Click on your Account
2. Click on Notifications
3. Scroll to the bottom of the list to find Content Link Error
4. Click on the action icon on the right to specify when you want to be notified.

Link Validator

The Link Validator allows an instructor to scan their entire CANVAS course for broken links. Broken YouTube videos will typically not be identified with this tool, but most other broken links will be identified.

1. Within your Course, go to Settings
2. From the submenu on the right, select Validate Links in Content

1. Then click Start or Restart Link Validation to begin scanning your course for broken links
2. The page with the broken link will be identified by page title. Click on the page to quickly edit it.
3. The specific broken link will be listed under each page title
