Overview
The Microsoft 365 LTI has been integrated with Canvas allowing the ability to create a Microsoft Team for a Canvas course on-demand. This article covers just the feature to enable the Microsoft Team. There are other options provided by the Microsoft 365 LTI.
The official Microsoft Education instructor assistance page is available here: https://vandalsuidaho.sharepoint.com/sites/InsideUI-Canvas-Instructors/SitePages/MS-Education-in-Canvas-(Instructor-Help).aspx
While viewing your Canvas course, go to Settings > Nagivation.

Scroll down to "Microsoft Education", click on the "..." menu and select "+ Enable". The item can also be dragged up on the screen to the visible section. Once it has been enabled, click on the "Save" button.

Once it has been saved to the Navigation, click on "Microsoft Education". The first time you will be asked to sign-in to your account. Note: browser pop-up and ad-blockers may interfere with the sign-in process.

If you have not gone through the Welcome page before, select "Continue setup ->" or select the "Learn more" links to read more about Microsoft 365 LTI features.

A list of available Applications will be listed to associate with your Canvas course. Enable the "Teams" option and select "Done".

You will see a screen display while the Microsoft 365 LTI provisions the Microsoft Team.

Users added to the Team automatically may see this notice in the Teams client.

After the Team has been provisioned, when navigating to "Microsoft Education", you will see the "Teams" option listed.

The Team will have the default name "Term Course-Section". In this example it is "F25 ARCH5020-02". Click on Open to view the Team.
