How do I install Sophos Cloud antivirus for Windows?

Overview:

ITS offers Sophos Cloud endpoint antivirus for UI-owned machines to help protect them from viruses and malware. If your device is not managed by ITS through Config Manager, this guide will help you install Sophos Cloud on the device manually. Sophos offers a free home edition of their antivirus software that you can use on your personal computers. The free edition can be downloaded from https://home.sophos.com/.

 You must have administrative rights on the computer in order to install Sophos Cloud antivirus.

Step 1:

Download the Sophos Cloud antivirus installer from https://downloads.uidaho.edu/Antivirus/cloud/SophosSetup.exe. You may need to enter your University of Idaho NetID to continue.

Step 2:

Open the Downloads folder and double click SophosInstall.exe to begin the installation.

Enter an administrator username and password to allow the installation if prompted.

Step 3:

At the welcome screen click 'Install' to begin the installation.

Step 4:

The installer downloads and installs the client. This may take a few minutes.

Step 5:

Once the installation completes you may be prompted to restart the system. Check the box next to "Restart my computer now" and click "Finish" to restart. Once the restart is complete Sophos Cloud antivirus will be installed on your computer.
