How do I connect to eduroam Wifi?

Eduroam wireless connections support the following devices:

The eduroam service is available at all locations that are covered by the University of Idaho wireless network. This service is also available at eduroam-enabled institutions, for a full list please visit their site list.

Connecting:

Step 1:

The SSID or wireless network option "eduroam" will be available for customers to connect to, choose this as your wireless network.

Step 2:

Once you have selected the eduroam wireless network you will need to ENTER YOUR FULL EMAIL ADDRESS as the UserID.

Ex. joevandal@uidaho.edu or butch@wsu.edu or victor@pdx.edu

 Note: If you do not use your full email address you will not be able to connect to the eduroam service.

Step 3:

Enter your University of Idaho email password into the required field and connect.

Step 4:

If your are a UI employee or student and this is the first time you are connecting to wireless services for the University of Idaho, you will need to accept the certificate notification for wireless.uidaho.edu (or eduroam.uidaho.edu).

Manual Connections:

If you are not able to automatically setup the eduroam connection here are the security settings for connecting to the wireless network:

  • Wireless Network Name (SSID): eduroam
  • Authentication Method: PEAP-MSCHAPv2
  • Wireless Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise (802.1X/EAP)
  • UserID/Identity: NetID@uidaho.edu or butch@wsu.edu or victor@pdx.edu
  • Password: University of Idaho Email password.

ITS recommends you have verified you can connect to eduroam while you are on campus prior to travelling. This will ensure you can work with your TSP or System Administrator in case you have any connection problems.
