How do I setup Sophos Safeguard on OS X?

Overview:

Sophos Safeguard is a program which manages whole disk encryption on your device. Safeguard should install automatically, but encryption will not take place until a passphrase is set. These steps will help you complete the encryption process.

Step 1:

Once Safeguard has installed, a pop up should appear when you log in asking you to enter your password, as shown in the screenshot below. You should receive this prompt each time you login until you provide it.

You will be prompted to enter your OS X password.

Step 2:

The system will automatically begin encrypting. To check progress, Go to FileVault in the Security & Privacy menu of System Preferences.

Step 3:

Once encrypted, you will need to use the password to turn the computer on. This password will be required every time the computer is turned on, or is rebooted.
