Teams Rollout Information

ITS is making Microsoft Teams more accessible for employees at U of I. This tool will help supplement those employees are already using for staying in touch and collaborating on files while working from home. Some employees are already using Teams and soon all U of I employees will be added as members of at least one team. Teams is a communications and collaboration platform from Microsoft which includes messaging, video and audio calls, and simultaneous file editing.

What MS Teams are being created

ITS is creating a MS Team for each high level division or college to ensure every university employee is invited or is part of MS Team for their primary area. It will automatically be populated with members associate with that division/college utilizing Banner codes. There are many MS Teams already created. ITS will try not to duplicate or interfere with those MS Teams but please report an issue if that occurs.

When will these Teams be created

The high-level teams will be created by Tuesday, April 7th, end of day.
