Previously, at the close of each semester, ITS asked student labs users to participate in a customer satisfaction survey. We solicited your responses to help us better gauge where we can improve our lab services and which services are underutilized.
During Spring 2011 semester, ITS implemented a new survey instrument, TechQual+, giving us standardized tools for analysis and peer institution comparisons of other higher education IT departments across the country.
Additionally, with this service we were able to reach a wider audience, to include not only students but also faculty and staff; ITS customers who may not use student labs but still frequently take advantage of the services offered by ITS. We strive to satisfy all UI-affiliate members who use technology services on campus and using TechQual+ helps us prioritize projects, streamline services and budget for future services.

- Student survey results (April 2011)
- Employee survey results (November 2011)
*Note: Because this survey combined Student & Employee responses into one document, some pages have been removed to eliminate over 100 pages of duplicate comments. All comments from customers appear in this consolidated document and are unedited. Of the selected respondents, the overall response rate was approximately 30 percent, with over half of the selected employees completing the survey and almost a quarter of selected students.
We thoroughly reviewed all survey results and are taking steps to help improve technology services on campus. Here are a few changes, some in progress, as a result of your concerns and comments:
- Search functionality on http://support.uidaho.edu/
- Wireless coverage and resiliency on the Moscow campus
- Blackboard upgrade to BbLearn via Distance and Extended Education (DEE), campus wide in Fall 2012
- Help Desk time-to-resolution and telephone availability
