UI Information Security Panel and Presentation
April 24, 2007
Do
you see computer security issues as a ticking time bomb you can
do nothing about? Is it just a matter of time before it
affects you? Attend the University of Idaho Computer
Security Awareness Day (CSAD 2006) training sessions to find
out what you can do to avoid the downtime, embarrassment,
and loss of trust that can occur when computer systems are
"hacked".
Did you know the University of Idaho network is "scanned"
approximately 450,000 times a day by computer systems outside
the university network? This averages to about 50-60 scans on
EVERY computer on the network EVERY day.
October 12th, 2006, is the
University of Idaho's second Computer Security Awareness Day and Information Technology Services (ITS) is
planning a number of activities towards educating all "Netizens"
on the impacts of computer security in the world today.
Did
you understand what that computer support technician
actually said? Was it really English?
Use this definition list to understand
some of the more common "jargon" related to computer security.
Did you
attend this year?
