   Finding the MAC Address in Windows Vista  

 

1.  Click on the Windows Button and then type in cmd in the search dialogue box and press Enter. (See Figure 1)

2. In the box that opens type ipconfig/all and press Enter. (See Figure 2)

3.  You will need to scroll up or down until you find the information you need.  Look under the "Wireless LAN Adapter..." for wireless.  Under each specific connect look for the "Physical Address" and this will be your MAC address. (See Figure 3).  To register a wireless MAC address, please continue to Step 4.

4. Login to www.support.uidaho.edu using your University credentials.

. Select Register Wireless from the left-hand menu.

. Input your Physical/MAC address into the Enter Network Card Address space without the colons.

. Read and Agree to the registration terms by selecting the check box and clicking I Agree.

                ***Please Note:
You must wait approximately 10 minutes for the network to recognize your device.***
