  Finding the Ethernet MAC Address in Windows XP   

1. Select the Start menu and then Run. (See Figure 1)

2. When the Run dialogue box opens, type cmd.   (See Figure 2)

3. The command prompt will open in a new window.  Type ipconfig/all then hit Enter. (See Figure 3)

4. You will need to scroll up or down until you find the information you need.  Look under the "Ethernet adapter Local..." for a wired connection.  Look for the "Physical Address" and this will be your MAC address. (See Figure 4).
