- Open Outlook.
- Go to the Tools menu at the top and select
E-mail
Accounts.

- Choose Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
- For Server Type choose POP and click Next.
- Type in Your Name as you want it to appear
in your e-mails.

- Type in your E-mail address
(username@uidaho.edu).
- For the Incoming Mail Server, type: mail.uidaho.edu.
- For the Outgoing Mail Server, type: mail.uidaho.edu.
- For the User Name, enter only your username
(Everything before the @ symbol in your e-mail address).
- For the Password, type in your Novell/AD password.
- Click on the More
Settings . . . button.
- Make sure all the fields under the General tab and the Servers tab are filled out correctly.
- Under the Outgoing Server tab, put a check mark
next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

- Have Use same settings as my incoming mail server
selected.
- Choose the Advanced Tab. Check both boxes
labeled This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
If you would like to keep a copy of your mail on the UI
E-mail servers, put a check mark in the box labeled Leave a
copy of messages on server.
- Change the "Outgoing server (SMTP):" port from 25 to
587

- Now you can click OK then press next and
Finish to return to Outlook.
You may now check your mail by pressing the Send/Receive
button.
