How do I check my University of Idaho E-mail using Microsoft Entourage? (POP)
 

  1. Open Entourage.
     
  2. Go to the Tools menu at the top and select Accounts (See Figure 1).

  3. Click on New as shown in Figure 2.

  4. For Account Type choose IMAP and click OK.

  5. Type in Your Name as you want it to appear on your emails (See Figure 4).

  6. Type in your E-mail address (username@uidaho.edu).
     
  7. For the Imap Server, type: mail.uidaho.edu
     
  8. For the Smtp Server, type: mail.uidaho.edu
     
  9. For the Account Name, enter only your username (Everything before the @ symbol in your e-mail address)
     
  10. For the Password, type in your E-mail password.
     
  11. Under Receiving Mail click on Click here for advanced receiving options

  12. Make sure to check the first box to require SSL and then click on the little square in the top left corner of the advanced receiving box to close.
     
  13. Under Sending Mail, click on Click here for advanced sending options.

  14. Check SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL)
     
  15. Check SMTP server requires authentication and have Use same settings as my receiving mail server selected
     
  16. Click on the little square in the top left of pop up box to close the advanced options.
     
  17. Now you can hit OK to go back to the Accounts Box.  You can close this box to return to Entourage.

You may now check your mail by hitting the Send/Receive button.
